CHRONIC DISEASE PREVENTION PROGRAM COORDINATOR  

 

 

 

Job Summary:

 

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Chronic Disease Prevention Program Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of the wellness program delivery including community wellness programs targeted for chronic disease prevention.  This will be in accordance with YMCA of the YUSA guidelines and will be in accordance with guidelines set by grant requirement specific to the programs.  The job will oversee the Personal Training program, and Group Exercise Classes including SilverSneakers/Silver&Fit programs.  Overall the position will ensure quality programs, member satisfaction, and efficient budget control. This is a part-time position.

Education/Training:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field preferred
  • Certification(s) in Group Exercise preferred
  • CPR/AED, First Aide certified required
  • TB-clearance required

 

 

 

Experience:

 

  • Two (2) years minimum experience in program planning and supervising of staff and volunteers
  • Two (2) years minimum experience working in health and fitness or related human service programs and/or committees, and experience in organizing and conducting meetings and staff trainings preferred

Responsible for promoting the facility and company, introducing clients to the joys of fitness, and maintaining a positive experience for increased member retention. Must maintain CPR & First Aid Certification and have current, nationally-recognized personal training certification.   • Provide a monthly overview calendar for parents to know what is coming up in the next month.
  • Develop activities to stimulate the children.
  • Create arts and crafts for children.

  • Promote literacy and early education.
  • Teach basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills.
  • Attend to children's basic needs.
  • Keep constant communication with parents regarding their child (ren).
  • Keep records of the students’ progress, routines, and interests, and keep parents informed about their child’s development.
  • Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and needs, determine their priorities for their children, and suggest ways that they can promote learning and development.
  • Become familiar with emergency procedures and protocol.
  • Integrate special needs children in a respectful manner.
  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
  • Supervise children at all times.
  • Identify problems and convene with professionals if necessary.

Job Summary:

 

 

 

  • Leads the operations and staff of Accounting/Finance departments.
  • Does all bookkeeping functions.
  • Works with Director of Operations & Membership on recording deposits and maintaining an accurate general ledger.
  • Produces accurate, timely accounting records in accordance with internal policies and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Oversees external financial reporting, including the annual audit and form 990.
  • Develops management reporting including statements to the Board of Directors and Committees.
  • Enter AP and reconcile accounts.
  • Assists Director of Operations and Membership in maintaining AR records and collections.
  • Prints AP checks weekly and additional bookkeeping functions.
  • Maintains internal controls throughout the Association, monitoring compliance, and implementing improvements.
  • Assists with organization and departmental budgets.

The Front Desk Customer Service staff will interact with the members and uphold the member experience standards. They will be the daily point of contact for members, determining their needs and offering solutions to meet these needs.   • Prepares member records and issues membership ID cards and handles all registration/enrollment transactions.
  • Greet all guests as they enter the facility and adhere to sign-in/out, guest, visitor, monitoring youth in the facility and other relevant policies and procedures. Report any suspicious behavior and violations of policy and procedures to your supervisor.

The Bloomsburg Area YMCA is now accepting applications for our Y-Care program. This candidate will be responsible for watching and caring for children during the Y-Care programs before and after school at elementary school sites including Bloomsburg Memorial and W.W. Evans.

THIS POSITION IS TRADITIONALLY HELD BEFORE AND AFTER THE SCHOOL DAY. DUE TO COVID-19 THE UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR MAY CREATE CHANGES IN THE SCHOOL YEAR THAT ALLOWS FOR FULL-DAY HOURS OR PART-TIME HOURS. CANDIDATES WILL BE ASKED ABOUT AVAILABILITY DURING THE SCREENING PROCESS.

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Before and After school Site Director, Child Care staff will provides direction to children, assist in implementation of the program curriculum, and is responsible for the overall safety and well-being of children in the program. Provides a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. This is a part-time position that averages less than 20-25 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
• Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans.
• Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities.
• Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
• Maintains program site and equipment.
• Maintains required program records.
• Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
• To promote the physical, intellectual, social, cultural and emotional well-being of the children.
• Work with the staff team to plan and implement activities.
• Participate in daily activities and aid the children in completing tasks, including land and water-based activities. Assist in assessing child abilities and developmental stages.
• Build enthusiasm for activities and programs.
• Complete required documentation regarding attendance, health and wellness, sign-in and sign-out, and other items as assigned.
• Keep the program areas neat and organized. Follow all safety procedures.
• Follow all regulating agency and YMCA child care policies, regulations and procedures.
• Maintain friendly, positive and professional relationships with children, parents, school & day care partners and other YMCA staff. Project a positive image of the YMCA and the Day Care program.
• Follow work site requirements regarding punctuality, appropriate dress, staff meeting attendance, etc.
• Carry out tasks as assigned by the Youth Director.
• Assist in program and YMCA recruitment and special events. Work YMCA days and alternative program locations as scheduled.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law. School Age Child Care Clearance per PA regulations as required.
• At least 18 years of age to work.
• High School diploma/GED, or educational background preferred. Additional educational requirements may be necessary per the appropriate regulating agency.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and New Employee Orientation and Child Abuse prevention training within 60 days of hire date.
• Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
• Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities. Vision, hearing, speech and movement abilities in order to provide safe supervision of children at all times.
