Bloomsburg Area YMCA Summer Camp
“Where Kids Come to Learn, Grow, & Explore”
For parents, extra support to keep children healthy and safe can go a long way. To give children an adventurous, active and healthy summer, the Bloomsburg Area Y is offering a variety of camp options to meet the needs of all our families’ youth in Bloomsburg and surrounding communities. YMCA camp programs provide a fun and unique experience that gives children and teens the opportunity to explore the outdoors, meet new friends, discover new interests and create memories that last a lifetime.
The Bloomsburg Area Y offers Full Day Summer Camp for ages 5-12 and a shorter Kiddie Camp for ages 3-4. The Bloomsburg YMCA provides a variety of opportunities to help ensure that children are learning and being physically active in the summer. Campers also learn how to be responsible and resourceful, work in groups, solve problems and make decisions that will help them grow as individuals – all while having fun.
This camp is based on a 10-week program where the Y provides childcare for children ages 5-12 years during the hours of 9:00am – 4:00pm. Before and after camp care is also provided from 6:30am – 9:00am and 4:00pm – 5:30pm. Camp includes crafts, games and sports, enrichment time, character development, guest speakers, field trips, swimming, and much more.
The Original Summer Camp
At the Y, there is fun for everyone regardless of your age, income, or background. We bring people closer together in a welcoming, supportive environment to nurture the potential of youth, promote healthy living, and give back to the community.
This summer, children will learn, grow, and thrive through the exhilarating fun of camp at the YMCA. In the midst of all the fun, they’ll explore nature, find new talents, try new activities, gain independence, and make lasting friendships.
Teens can have fun socializing with their friends in a safe, positive environment while exploring their interests, learning leadership skills, and discovering all they can achieve.
Counselors can express their unique personalities, share their diverse talents, and model the path for the future’s young leaders.
Plan your summer fun at the Y and experience the impact we can make in your life and in the community.
A SAFE PLACE FOR SUMMER
YMCA Day Camp provides a happy and healthy environment for children to learn and grow. Children have the opportunity to build self-confidence, independence, and creativity. Parents have peace of mind knowing their children are in a safe and enriching environment.
EVERYONE BELONGS AT THE Y: FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Individuals and families may apply for financial assistance for membership and programs such as childcare and day camp. Assistance for CCIS is extremely easy to sign up for, but please be advised to apply as soon as possible; some applications may be waitlisted. Call CCIS at 570-275-3996 or learn more online at www.compass.state.pa.us. The process is confidential, and applications are also available at the Bloomsburg Area YMCA.
The YMCA Summer Camp staff will provide a safe environment with planned activities that are exciting and age-appropriate. Counselors are selected based on their educational skills, maturity, creativity, and sensitivity to the needs of campers. All counselors have criminal and child abuse clearances, and are certified in First Aid/CPR, Child Abuse Prevention, Blood Borne Pathogens, Fire/Water safety, and Emergency Action Plans. You can rest assured that the Bloomsburg Area YMCA counselors are trained, caring, and positive role models.
Most campers spend the day outdoors. Children must wear appropriate clothing and footwear. No sandals or flip-flops are permitted. Sunscreen should be applied before camp and brought to camp.
